On this fateful afternoon, I was overwhelmed.
Different thoughts ran through my mind—and many weren’t even glorifying God. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t even have the strength to sort it all out. So, I just lay down and slept.
When I woke up, I felt like a new person.
All those thoughts? Gone.
I felt refreshed and renewed—like I had been given a fresh, clean slate.
That’s when it hit me:
Sleep is a strategy of Zion.
It’s not just to refresh the body—but also the heart and mind.
Maybe it’s proof of total dependence on God—
That moment where you know you can’t give yourself sleep or wake yourself up on your own.
Scripture says, "He gives His beloved sleep."
In sleep, your energy, charisma, and strength mean nothing. Your body rests, and heaven works.
Or perhaps it’s because Scripture says “His mercies are new every morning” or “Joy comes in the morning.”
Either way, I’ve learned this:
Aunty… Uncle… how has worrying helped you?
Have you grown taller by it? Have you made any progress through anxiety?
CHILL.
Rest, knowing God is in control.
When overwhelmed—take a nap—and whisper,
“Lord, I trust You.”
Because looking back, you’ll see clearly:
It was the hand of the Lord that brought you this far—not your energy, not your effort.
So trust that hand today.
He is El Gibbor—God your Strength.
Trust Him.
Sleep. 💜
